Morphe 350 review| ATypicalLife

morphe.jpgHey guys! So the most controversial thing about Morphe is how you say it right? So I say it like morphe instead of morph-ee. But I won’t lie, I don’t have a clue how it’s actually meant to be said. Morphe 350 was the first morphe palette I ever bought, in fact it’s the only Morphe palette I’ve ever bought but I’ve had it for quite a few months now so I thought I’d share with you if I actually think it’s worth it!

Okay so the first thing, is the shades. I love the shades in this palette (obviously or I wouldn’t have bought it but you know) they’re so practical and obviously for 35 shades, £22.50 is amazing. There are shades for everyday use or occasion wear and there are so many looks you can make out of this. My favourites are a browny neutral look or a orangey reddish look, which is my go to if I’m going for a meal or an evening out. I know many people prefer the nude looks but for the people that want to be more daring, there’s things here for you too. There’s also a massive range in light-dark and although about 2/3 of the shades are matte, there’s some absolutely stunning sparkly and shimmery ones in there

The other thing I really like about this palette is the pigmentation. It isn’t as strong as palettes such as Mac but it’s still amazing. Packing the eyeshadows on is really easy and they show up extremely well but the trickiness comes in with the blending. Blending another shade can be quite hard and I do feel as if I need to grab quite a lot into my brush to blend, especially onto my crease. However, I think this is with particular shades because with the reds, this isn’t the case and they blend really well. This is more just a problem with the brown shades but I suppose that is because of the fact that they are meant to be neutral, everyday shades.

My absolute favourite thing about Morphe palettes is their staying power. Honestly when I go out for a day with this on, they are still on at the end of the day just as pigmented as before. This could be something to do with the primer I have but I don’t think it is as I haven’t found this with other eyeshadows that I have worn. I don’t think I’ve worn this more than like 8 hours but who is wearing eyeshadow much longer than that anyway, and it hasn’t faded at all by this point. Obviously, the shimmery shades have started to fade by the time my day has ended but only a tad and they still show up really well. Also, rain does not seem to really have an effect on these eyeshadows which is great because if they did, I would never be able to wear these shadows in the UK.

Okay so the thing that depresses me the most about this palette is the packaging, like I know it isn’t that important but you know.. I like the sleek blackness of it all and the name of the brand on the front but it’s just so plain. Especially compared to palettes by Too Faced etc. Also, something that does make me really sad is that it’s so big. I know this can’t be helped as there are so many shadows but at least if it’s so big, I think there should be a mirror inside! That’s something that disappoints me so much. It’s such a big palette and a mirror would be perfect but it’s just missing! However the physical palette doesn’t affect what’s inside. It’s like don’t judge a book by its cover but don’t judge an eyeshadow palette by its.. casing? Yeah that doesn’t quite work.

Okay guys so that’s just a short review of the Morphe 350 palette! It’s one I really do love and overall I’d rate it like a 4/5 which for eyeshadow, it’s amazing as I’ve only found one palette I love over this. This palette is amazing for beginners are there’s so many shades to cover everything at such a great price. I hope you enjoyed this post and if you want to see some swatches then look out on my instagram as there are some pictures coming very soon!

Also guys before I go I just wanted to let you know I’m thinking of doing a Q&A, as inspired by BeautyBlogger. So please please please ask me questions below as they are always extremely appreciated! Thanks guys! Like, comment and follow if you enjoyed and I’ll see you very soon!

What questions do you want to ask me for my Q&A?

Great post and I agree it’s an amazing palette. The colours are so vivid and natural at the same time and the staying power is definitely a huge bonus!

My question to you if no one asked is – what influenced you to start blogging?

I too just bought and reviewed one of these but mine was the 35k. I love it.. I had the same complaints about mine. Packaging sucks and sadly no mirror. I actually liked the size of it and for the price..it’s awesome. I pronounce it Morpheeeeeebecause that’s how the brandowner says it so I hope that’s right. Would love to see some swatches.

I really like the colors of this palette and I’ve been eyeing it for a while, but I’m still hesitant because it feels like too many shadows for someone that doesn’t wear makeup very often! great post tho, I loled at the Morphe pronunciation issue hehe! I dono how to say it either!

    Okey now for questions!
Q1: what is your favorite genre of music?

    Q2: what are your hobbies?

Q3: what is one thing that you did which you are proud of?

I think your pronunciation is the correct one, the e is silent. I have looked at their palettes before, but had the same issues you mention. The packaging doesn’t scream “I’m quality,” and that is the new norm. Even inexpensive K-beauty comes in creative, cute packaging. Size is definitely an issue! That’s a huge palette to balance on a counter, & oh my the mess if it dropped!

They could layer their palettes, sorted by color group & stacked?

Your difficulty blending the brown shades could be due to ingredients possibly. If you have another set with browns that blend better, do compare ingredients. It may help with purchasing choices later.

Yeah I’m always worried I drop it! It’d be really good if they could stack them too, that’s exactly what I was thinking. And ooh yeah I will! I hadn’t thought of that! Thank you for the amazing comment xx
